Lantern Sends A Beacon Of Light to Elle for Elle UK
In the last quarter Lantern have helped to raise funds and donations for women who have suffered at the hands of domestic violence. The event itself raised in excess of £400 and a further 200 toiletry items were donated. A number of activities took place on the day including a bake sale, hair & make-up treatments and a company quiz.
This is Lantern’s 4th year raising funds and donations for good causes; previous charities supported include Macmillan, Children in Need, Dogs Trust, and Marie Curie.
In the last 4 years Lantern has raised over £5,000 of which we are immensely proud.
Two key members of staff behind all of our charity support are Kym and Mishelle. Not only do both of them ensure the Lantern core values are demonstrated within their roles, but they enthuse the Lantern Promise within their commitment and involvement outside of work.
Donations from colleagues have been overwhelming and more than we could ever have expected. The day of the event had a great atmosphere throughout every department and helped to raise much needed funds. Colleagues and management brought in some kind gestures to donate and other members of staff donated products from their catering business.” Kym proudly stated.
“Not only is it rewarding but it is great to see the departments come together. These charity events are always great fun to run and a great way to give back to the community. We really enjoy arranging these events and seeing the final outcome.”
Our CEO – Denise Crossley – was delighted with the time and effort invested by everyone in supporting our nominated charities and is proud of the contribution that Lantern have made over the years to differing charities. Denise stated ‘this most recent event has been particularly successful and we were delighted to be able to provide some basic needs that we often take for granted, to a particularly vulnerable group of women. Elle for Elle provides a much needed respite for these ladies at their greatest time of need. Lantern are delighted to be working with them this year.’
