We’ve come a long way since the days when we financed cars. Back then it made sense we were called Motormile Finance (or MMF for short). Today, that name no longer describes who we are and what we do.

We’re going to continue helping people clear their debt with us – and do it in the right way – as Lantern, our new company name.

Why the name Lantern?

We chose the name Lantern because we wanted a name that reflected our ambition to be more than simply a debt collector. By treating customers right and helping them find a way of clearing their debt with us, our hope is this becomes a step towards a future which is that bit better and brighter. And that’s what the name Lantern points to.

So what has actually changed?

There is a new name, logo, website, a new look to our communications, and some further investment in our people and processes – to ensure we keep our customers at the heart of what we do. However, it is still the same committed customer care team looking after our customers, and they can be contacted in the same ways as before.

What will happen to customers’ online accounts?

These will continue to operate as normal – with customer accounts still accessible via the previous MMF web address ( or at the new address ( Your existing account details (username and password) will continue to be accepted.
